At RISE Online Academy New Mexico, we offer a flexible and personalized high school experience built around rigorous academics, real-world opportunities, and supportive relationships. Whether your child is focused on college, career, or exploring their passions, our program is designed to help them thrive with a strong curriculum, customizable schedules, and a network of dedicated educators and coaches.
Curriculum and Courses
Our high school curriculum is strictly aligned to standards and focuses on relevant, engaging content. Your child will benefit from a mix of assessments, including auto-graded assignments, projects, papers, presentations, and discussions. Teachers are heavily involved in your child’s learning and provide detailed, personalized feedback on assignments.
- General Education & Electives — Choose from 100+ courses that go beyond the basics—like Business Foundations, Medical Terminology, Music Aesthetics, and Web Design.
- Honors Classes — These are available in core subjects like English, math, science, and social studies. Each honors course includes a year-long project that culminates in a portfolio piece your student can use for college or job applications.
- Career-Ready Life Skills — These certificates are designed to help individuals stand out to potential employers — demonstrating that certificate holders have the skills and aptitude necessary to be successful employees in a large number of industries.
Students take courses four at a time and have the flexibility to learn when and where it works best for them. As long as they meet weekly and monthly deadlines, they can work at their own pace.

Day in the Life
Every student’s schedule looks a little different at RISE Online Academy! You can customize your child’s schedule to fit your family’s needs. We offer several blocks throughout the day to keep your high schooler on track, and you fill in the rest of the day with coursework and activities.

Support Services
Your child will benefit from wraparound support! Teachers, Academic Coaches, Family Advocates, and school counselors are available for one-on-one meetings, and homework help is available any time of day or night with 24/7 virtual tutoring. Learn more about support services on our Support Team page.
Other Requirements
High school students participate in all required New Mexico state assessments with comprehensive preparation and support. Testing takes place at convenient local locations with advance notice.
Students demonstrate engagement through completion of coursework, interaction with teachers and support staff, and progress toward learning goals. We understand that high schoolers show their learning in diverse ways and honor different learning styles and personalities.
