Q: What are the eligibility requirements to enroll at RISE Online Academy New Mexico
A: Students must be:
- Full-time residents of New Mexico;
- Age 5 by September 1 of the upcoming school year; or
- Age 21 or younger by the first day of school.
Q: What grade levels are offered?
A: We serve students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Q: Are there enrollment application deadlines?
A: At RISE Online Academy New Mexico, students can enroll year-round as long as space is available.
Q: Are there any out-of-pocket expenses to attend?
A: No. RISE Online Academy is a public school virtual program, so it is completely free to students.
Q: Are there any face-to-face requirements?
A: There are no face-to-face requirements except during required state testing, but your child will have in-person opportunities, including field trips, clubs, activities, and middle- and high-school sports. Coursework is completed 100% online, and there are live sessions available throughout the day, Monday through Friday, so your child can receive academic support, motivation, and encouragement. Required state testing will be in-person at a location close to your residence.
Q: What are the graduation requirements for high school students?
A: To earn your diploma from RISE Online Academy New Mexico, students must complete 24 Units. Graduation requirements vary by cohort. More details can be found on the Graduation Requirements page.
Q: What kind of support will my child receive?
A: Students at RISE Online Academy receive support from state-certified teachers, Academic Coaches, school counselors, Family Advocates, and 24/7 tutors.
Q: Will my child receive a device or internet access support?
A: Yes. RISE provides a laptop and enhanced WiFi connectivity to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed.
Q: Can my child transfer credits from another school?
A: Yes. We work with families to review transcripts and ensure eligible credits are transferred. Our enrollment team will guide you through this process.

A: RISE provides special education services and individualized support based on each student’s needs. Our special education team works closely with families to meet students’ unique needs in a virtual setting.
